Valencia day 3 timing

February 3, 2010

As i’m about to pack up and go get on a plane i’d better go through the lap time up to now (14:40 local)

  1. Alonso:   1:11.470 75 laps
  2. De la Rosa: 1:12.094 41laps
  3. Schumacher: 1:12.438 65 laps
  4. Alguersuari: 1:12.576 38 laps
  5. Button: 1:12.951 33 laps
  6. Hulkenberg: 1:13.669 81 laps
  7. Petrov: 1:13.889 45 laps

I doubt we’ll see many changes in positions unless somebody does a glory run on no fuel.

The teams have started to pack up non-essential equipment, so it’s onto Jerez next week.

Let battle commence

February 3, 2010

The psychological war between Michael Schumacher and Jenson Button started in earnest this morning before either of them had left the pit lane. Schumacher was first out of his garage and then promptly stopped in the pit lane, forcing Button to line up behind him for a few moments. That will be first blood to Schumacher

The day has arrived…

February 3, 2010

Today is the day the whole of the F1 world appears to have been waiting for. The traffic is backed up out of the circuit car parks all the way to the nearby motorway, the grandstands are busier than they have been all week (and they’ve been pretty full), and the fans are cheering. The reason, Fernando Alonso takes to the track for the first time in the 2010 Ferrari. Meanwhile further down the pit lane the non Spanish media are all waiting for either Jenson Button to come out in the number 1 McLaren, or for Michael Schumacher to come out in his Mercedes.

I wouldn’t want to predict anything at this stage, but I suspect that the three of them will be trading top spot on the time sheets all day.
